Welcome to the world of connected lighting

Next week, we will start with the launch of a series trend blogs and videos about the enormous potential of connected lighting. In the next couple of months, we will share facts and figures, user experiences and expert opinions about the subject. We hope our stories will inspire companies across the globe to recognize and embrace connected lighting as an easy-to-implement solution that can have a huge impact.

The last couple of years, connected lighting has been on a steady rise, and rightfully so. More and more companies have recognized light management as a smart and efficient way to achieve significant energy savings, carbon footprint reduction, savings in operating costs and a more efficient, safe and pleasant working environment.

As a kick-off of our series, a brief introduction of Nedap Light Controls. We help companies in commercial and industrial high bay environments to efficiently manage and optimize the use of LED lighting through our connected lighting platform LuxonCloud. Evidently, LED lighting is an essential part of our proposition. The (potential) impact of this technology is considerable. According to McKinsey, in 2030 alone, the use of LED lights will reduce energy consumption by 40%. Based on today’s energy prices, this means up to $26 billion in savings.

Our blog series revolves around three main trends in connected lighting, that we have identified in the market:

  • Sustainability
  • Lighting as a Service (LaaS)
  • Human Centric Lighting

In our first trend blog, we will focus on the crucial role of technology to achieve sustainability goals in general and, more specifically, the great potential of connected lighting.

Stay tuned!
